US Martial Arts Grand National Assoc

US Martial Arts Grand National Association

The US Martial Arts Grand National Association is not  a martial arts tournament.  It is a martial arts organization that is designed to rate martial arts tournaments for the purpose of awarding State, Regional, National, and International Championship Points to competitors no matter what styles or system of the martial arts they study and practice.  When martial arts tournament promoters rate their tournaments with the US Martial Arts Grand National Association, the promoters may use whatever tournament sanctioning rules and rating system that they wish to use.  The US Martial Arts Grand National Association rating will simply be one of the other rating systems being used to allow competitors to earn points.

In order for the tournament results to be posted on the US Martial Arts Grand National Association website, the tournament promoters will be required to provide an official copy of the tournament results to the US Martial Arts Grand National Association.

Tournament Rating

Rated Tournaments will be martial arts tournaments where competitors will be able to earn US Martial Arts Grand National Association Points when they compete in Weapon Kata, Empty-Hand Kata, Kumite, and Grappling. The competitors who are interested in earning points must be registered members of the US Martial Arts Grand National Association.

Tournament Promoters who are registered members of the US Martial Arts Grand National Association will not be required to pay to register their tournament for rating by USMAGNA. Tournament Promoters who are not registered members, will be required to pay to have their tournaments rated.

Competitors who are registered members will be able to try to accumulate enough points at USMAGNA Rated Tournaments (throughout the year) to be seeded among the Top in their divisions at US Martial Arts Grand National Championship held annually.

Top Seed: Means that, in weapon & empty-hand kata, these competitors will compete last. In Kumite & Grappling competition, they will receive a BYE and advance to the second round to begin competing.

Adult Black Belt Points

(based on Style & System)

When adult black belt men and women compete in Weapon and Empty-Hand Kata (Forms) a tournaments that are rated by USMAGNA, the adult black belt men and women will be awarded State, Regional, National, and International USMAGNA Championship Points towards a Championship Title in the Style & System of martial arts that they study and practice.

Competitors Point Standing (Rating)

The names of every competitor in every division who places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in weapon kata (forms), empty-hand kata (forms), and kumite at martial arts tournaments that are reated by USMAGNA, will be posted on USMAGNA “TOURNAMENT RESULTS” page that features the results of those tournaments.  However, the competitors State, Regional, National, and International Championship Points Standing (Rating) will be posted only for competitors who have obtained a US Martial Arts Grand National Association membership. USMAGNA is offering for limited time a $25 discount on the first year of competitor USMAGNA membership  (for online membership application click here.

US Martial Arts Grand National Association Championship

USMAGNA will be hosting a championship tournament once a year.  Time and Place will be announced.  At these tournaments, the competitors who accumulate enough points to be placed among the Top-10 point holders in their divisions in Weapon Form (Kata), and Kumite, will be seeded, which means that those competitors will be among the last competitors who will compete in those events on the day of the US Martial Arts Grand National Association Championship.
